Hire Dynamics Awarded “Most Valuable Provider” (MVP) In Metro Atlanta

March 27th, 2012

During its inaugural Movers and Makers Awards, Partnership Gwinnett and the Gwinnett Chamber recognized Hire Dynamics as the “Most Valuable Provider” (MVP) for excellence in service to the manufacturing and supply chain industries in Gwinnett and metro Atlanta.

“We take great pride in receiving this recognition as Gwinnett is where we started the company 10 years ago and remains our headquarters. In fact, we place more than 800 workers daily in Gwinnett with the majority in the manufacturing and supply chain industries. The quality of our local clients (many of whom were recognized at the event) makes it easier to attract quality candidates. Our vision remains to be the #1 staffing company that you would refer to a friend,” said Dan Campbell, Chief Executive Officer of Hire Dynamics.

Partnership Gwinnett, the community and economic development initiative, announced the winners of its inaugural Movers and Makers Awards, honoring local manufacturing and supply chain companies. The companies were awarded based on specific criteria including economic impact, corporate responsibility, workforce excellence, industry innovation and sustainability.

“We congratulate this year’s impressive winners and are excited that we can provide recognition and exposure for our amazing local businesses. This will further develop their competiveness and ultimately drive existing industry expansions and job creation,” said Troels Adrian, Project Manager, Advanced Manufacturing & Supply Chain at Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development. “The exceptional quality of the contenders for this year’s Movers & Makers Awards illustrates the fact that Gwinnett County is a major hub for advanced manufacturing and supply chain management – industries that utilize our excellent workforce and transportation infrastructure to compete in today’s truly global marketplace.”

Hire Dynamics Makes Inavero’s 2012 Best of Staffing™ Client & Talent List

February 24th, 2012

Hire Dynamics announced that it has been named to Inavero’s 2012 Best of Staffing™ Client & Talent list. Best of Staffing, presented in partnership with CareerBuilder, is the nation’s only award that recognizes staffing firms that receive remarkable reviews from their clients and Talent. Fewer than 1% of North American staffing firms have been named to the 2012 Best of Staffing List.

How did Hire Dynamics achieve this?
Staffing firms competing to make the Best of Staffing list underwent a rigorous client and talent survey process followed by careful analysis of responses to determine satisfaction levels. Hire Dynamics received satisfaction ratings of 9 or 10 out of 10 in service from both their clients and talent. Best of Staffing participants secured a place on the list by earning an average Net Promoter Score that was nearly double the national staffing industry benchmark for client and talent satisfaction.

Inavero’s complete Best of Staffing list can be viewed at www.bestofstaffing.com. For more information about Inavero, visit www.inavero.com.

Long-Term Unemployment a ‘National Crisis’

January 18th, 2012

Wall Street Journal 1/18/12 – Sara Murray; Cameron McWhirter

While the job market is improving, long-term unemployment continues to be particularly pronounced, and there is little indication that it is falling quickly. The government reported in December that 3.9 million nationwide had been out of work for at least a year and were still looking.

Some will eventually find jobs, though long spells of unemployment are likely to scar them for years. Workers who were jobless for six months or more in the late 1990s and early 2000s in Connecticut and eventually found work earned 60% less than those who were unemployed for three months or less, according to economists Kenneth Couch of the University of Connecticut and Dana Placzek of the state labor department. Workers who had been unemployed for less than five weeks in 2010 had a 34% chance of finding a job the following month, according to U.S. Department of Labor data, while those out more than six months had only a 10% chance.

The article examines the impact of these developments on the town of Roswell, GA. Applications and placements at staffing firm Hire Dynamics LLC, which has six Georgia locations including one near Roswell, were up 40% last year, says chief executive Dan Campbell.

Four macro trends that will reshape the staffing industry

December 30th, 2011

By Leslie Stevens-Huffman, Staffing Industry Analyst

It’s been business as usual in the staffing industry since the recovery began in 2009, as companies enjoyed the customary rebound in staffing services. But the industry has recovered only about half of what it lost, which was about a third of its workforce.

A convergence of four macro trends is responsible for the slowdown and this disruptive quartet may wield enough power to transform the entire industry before the year is over.

“The staffing industry is like a sports team that had to go on a winning streak just to get back to 500,” notes Tom Erb, president of Tallann Resources, an Ohio-based consulting firm. “But this time, many of the changes are permanent so owners will have to develop new strategies and exert greater effort to get back to the top.”

We give you the four trends.

No. 1: Structural Changes

There’s no doubt that fear, uncertainty and tepid economic growth are keeping employers from rehiring regular employees. Instead, 34.3 percent of the 2,000 employers recently surveyed by McKinsey Global Institute say they plan to use more temporary and contract workers over the next five years. But staffing owners can’t afford to read the headlines and rest on their laurels, because the short-term economic conditions are not conducive to growth and most employers lack a plan or viable strategy to achieve their flexible workforce goals.

“The economy is structurally changing in ways that favor the staffing industry in the long-term,” says Steve Berchem vice president and analyst for the American Staffing Association. “But all the data suggests that short-term growth will be hard to come by, especially in 2012.”

Dan Campbell, CEO and owner of Atlanta-based Hire Dynamics, says that staffing firms offer clients consulting services, education and strategic workforce planning if they want to capitalize on the economic conditions that are pushing clients toward the use of contingent staffing. He also notes that the industry’s current training programs are inadequate for today’s environment, because they tend to focus on tactics like closing the sale or presenting candidates instead of finding hidden problems and developing strategic solutions.

If staffing firms don’t step up to the plate and assist customers with strategic planning, they risk losing them to competitors or even [managed service providers], since providers plan to aggressively market outsourced contingent workforce management services to midsize companies this year, after saturating the large employer segment.

Historically, the staffing industry has performed well during times of economic expansion and job growth, but the University of Michigan predicts gross domestic product growth of just 2.5 percent and limited job creation in 2012, with the national unemployment rate declining slightly to 8.8 percent.

And just in case you’re looking for more economic challenges, unemployment taxes will probably rise.

Finally, the U.S. Supreme Court is expected to rule on healthcare reform by June, which could force staffing owners to deal with the biggest game-changer of them all in the second half of the year.
